ROSA I. MERINO

Instituto de Nanociencia y Materiales de Aragón (INMA), CSIC – Unizar, Zaragoza, Spain.

«Solid oxide – Molten carbonate dual membranes for CO2 capture: Where are we?»

Rosa I. Merino is a CSIC research scientist at INMA. She specializes in spectroscopic techniques for and in laser-assisted selective melting of ceramics. Her research interests focus on energy materials (for SOFCs, SOECs or high temperature membranes) and microstructured materials for photonic applications as metamaterials or selective emitters.

FEDERICO  BAIUTTI

Institut de Recerca en Energia de Catalunya (IREC) – Barcelona, Spain.

«Performance, stability and scalability of thin-film based structures for solid oxide cell application»

Federico Baiutti is staff research scientist at the Catalonia Institute for Energy Research (IREC) in Barcelona. His research focuses on the development of next-generation materials for high-temperature energy applications (solid oxide fuel cells) and on the development of novel energy storage and conversion devices. His main expertise is on the fabrication, fundamental characterization and integration of complex thin-film structures.

MIGUEL ÁNGEL GARCÍA GARCÍA-TUÑÓN

Instituto de Cerámica y Vidrio (ICV), CSIC – Madrid, Spain.

«Marine energy: An opportunity for new materials»

Miguel Ángel García is a research scientist at the Institute of Ceramics and Glass of CSIC. His research interests are the functional properties (especially magnetic and optical) of nanostructured materials. He has years of activity in the development of scientific instrumentation to measure nanomaterials. In the applied field, his lines are electromagnetic systems for the railway sector, and the effects of magnetic fields on health.
